Firstly, thanks to everyone who submitted a demo for this year's Punt. I got 135 entries in the end and the quality was incredibly high. By Sunday evening I'd managed to whittle that down to 40 and then it got seriously difficult. But in the end, I settled on these 20 acts.

Not being able to do the Punt last year obviously meant there were more entries than usual this time round and if I'd had more venues, I'd have loved to include certain other acts.

Have to admit I'll miss the early acoustic session, it eased us into the debauchery nicely, but I guess it's tough to find a suitable venue.

Thanks for the positive feedback so far. I'll try and get links up for all the acts soon but some of the ones I have at the moment aren't meant for public consumption.

I really hope enough people will come out and support the Punt this year. Seems it's always a struggle to get people out in numbers - being on a Wednesday night doesn't help, I know - but eight quid to see 20 acts is pretty bloody cheap - you'd pay that just in booking and handling fees for a couple of tickets to see someone semi-famous at a large venue these days, and who knows which of these acts will end up headlining the O2 etc. in months or years to come.

I honestly can't say how chuffed we are to have been chosen, especially as our stage is brilliant all evening.
